1. Day:
Northern Transdanubian / Pannonhalma-Sokoróalja wine region
On the way to Budapest stop in Pannonhalma. where you visit the Benedictine Monastery, a World Heritage site. It was the first Hungarian monastery, founded more than a thousand years ago, Hungary still being primarily a pagan culture at the time. It’s an example of an early Christian monastery that is still in use. The amazing library, containing over 300,000 works, was designed to be naturally lit with carefully placed windows and mirrors, avoiding damage by candles and smoke in a world that had not yet discovered electricity. Afterwards, wine tasting in the Abbey Winery, including a guided tour in the winery. Arrival in Budapest in the evening. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in downtown Budapest.
2. Day:
Northern Transdanubian / Etyek-Buda wine region
After breakfast get acquainted with Budapest, the beautiful Hungarian capital during a sightseeing tour. The guests will be acquainted with the most famous sights of the city (e.g. Heroes Square – with statues of the historical Hungarian kings, City Park with Europe’s largest thermal spa, Andrássy Avenue, Opera House, St Steven’s Cathedral, Parliament, Chain Bridge, Castle District, Matthias Church, Fishermen’s Bastion), the most interesting stories of the locals, and general information about history, the city, and life in Hungary. Then continue to Etyek to have lunch, and then taste the excellent local wines in an intimate cellar. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
3. Day:
Balaton / Badacsony and Balatonfüred-Csopak wine region
After breakfast go on a full-day excursion to the Lake Balaton (the largest fresh-water lake of Central Europe). Stop in Balatonfüred, a small town with a historic atmosphere on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. Its attractiveness is due to its beautiful location, the healing power of its carbonated springs, the fine, aromatic wines grown in the Uplands, and above all, to the hospitality of the people who live here. Taste the wines of two different famous wineries, with a lunch in between. In the afternoon boat ride on the lake to enjoy the natural beauties of the region.

4. Day:
Special experience: Participate in grape harvesting and wine making!
After breakfast participate in the magical wine making process! Once the summer is gone, the most important event in the life of a farmer is the ripening of grape and its harvesting. Real good wine is made by those farmers who could still keep their traditional values and the harvesting, wine making process in our stressful, running world. You can harvest the famous Balaton-peninsula’s wine greap, then enjoy your well-deserved lunch.
Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
5. Day:
Tokaj-hegyalja wine region and Eger wine region
After checking out from the hotel, leave for the most famous wine region of Hungary: Tokaj. This village is the capital of the Historical Wine Region, a World Heritage site, sung about in the national anthem, which can be found at the feet of the highest and most preserved sleeping volcano of Hungary. The historic network of cellars more than a hundred years old, with entrances popping up among houses, in the center of the town, is a unique feature.
Have lunch and a deluxe wine tasting at a well-known winery.
Afterwards, continue to Eger, a town considered to be a Baroque pearl of Hungary. After a short walk in the Baroque old town, have dinner and taste the famous Bull’s Blood of Eger, among other excellent wines.
Overnight in a hotel in downtown Eger.
6. Day:
After breakfast start your journey home.
